Yes, you did, Ann! I've always wanted to own a bookshop and there's no time like the present. Bookshelves were installed last week and boxes have begun arriving. It's a tiny space, but we're making the most of it. Being connected to a great coffee shop will help!
I love all of your borrowed words. Those words seemed to speak to me today (except the Enneagram 4 quote - I'm a 1). Congratulations on the upcoming opening of the bookstore. That sounds like a dream come true!! I also really enjoyed reading about your faith journey. I didn't grow up in a denomination the participated in Lent, but have been a part of one for almost all of my adult life. It is a very meaningful season to me.
Thanks for this, Ingrid. So insightful about how one can make a major change, but not totally leave the former behind. My denomination which undergone a seismic change so that I'm not sure I can stay, but it would be hard to leave the church that has formed me.
By the way, Canada's largest bookstore chain is/was called Chapters. Have you checked whether they have a copyright on the name? Otherwise you might hear from them....
I understand your reluctance to leave your church, Hugh. I have found myself stepping away from a couple of churches as an adult, but none of the leavings (or the stayings) have impacted me like Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. About the Canadian book store chain, I haven't heard from them yet. I'm officially registered as Chapters Bookshop with the IRS so we'll see if anything comes of it. I'm just a dot on the map compared to a chain.
Ingrid, did I read that right...that you yourself are opening a bookstore??

Thank you for reading, Lisa. It is truly a dream come true.

Yes, but big box stores may not even allow small dots on a map stealing their name. I hope they leave you alone. And best wishes with the shop!
